Welcome to Myrtle Beach Fishing!

Featuring information on Myrtle Beach inshore and deep sea offshore fishing charters and boats in the Myrtle Beach, South Carolina area.

Some of the best fishing available can be found off the coast of South Carolina in the warm waters of the Gulf Stream. If you’re coming Myrtle Beach fishing you have the option of taking a fishing charter boat, renting a boat and going yourself, bringing your own boat, or fishing from piers, docks or the shore. Some Myrtle Beach fishing charter companies specialize in staying in the inlets while others will take you out deep sea fishing for a half day, full day, or at night, usually going after big game fish.

Besides the Atlantic Ocean there is also splendid fishing found in the Intracoastal Waterway, which runs parallel to the coast from Little River to Socastee, where it merges with the Waccamaw river.

Keep in mind that your tackle requirements change depending upon what type of Myrtle Beach fishing you are doing. If you take a fishing charter boat your tackle (rod, reel and bait) will be provided. The majority of in-shore fishing is done on the ocean floor so you’ll need sinkers to keep your rig on the bottom. If you’re fishing from shore or a pier or dock and don’t have your own tackle you can rent it from a local bait and tackle shop or sporting goods store.

Fishing licenses are required for Myrtle Beach fishing for individuals 16 of age and older who are harvesting oysters or clams or individuals fishing for fish from privately owned boats. Individuals 16 years and older will need a license to fish from the surf, but not from a public fishing pier.
